Michael Prayag
PICTURE 1-1
Me wearing a blue khurta.

Item in Michael's mediation area
PICTURE 1-2
On eBay, I found this cast iron stove insert. It now hangs in my meditation area.
Its message might well have served as the motto for my own lengthy spiritual journey. But through the benefit of Awareness Yoga, I want your "combustion" to happen much quicker.

Radha Krisha
PICTURE 1-3
A special picture of Krishna and Radha that I carefully brought home from an ashram in India.

Doorway to Enlightenment
PICTURE 1-4
Have you been looking in the right place for the doorway to enlightenment?.

Aum
PICTURE 1-5
A beautiful find from my Internet search for AUM images.

Sri Papaji in my heart
PICTURE 1-6
Sri Papaji as I see him with my heart.

Lingam not a phallic symbol
PICTURE 1-7
Only a 19th century British colonial officer would think the lingam is a phalic symbol. Unfortunately this ill-informed notion seems to have taken hold.
Obviously the culture that brought us the Kama Sutra and also detailed erotic temple sculptures would have made the lingam look like an actual penis if that was the real intent and meaning.
In fact the lingam is an ancient almost "formless form" pointing to the vast and pure Awareness.

Celtic Cross for my meditation area
PICTURE 1-8
It is important we each feel at liberty to use images and items that are personally meaningful rather than feeling stuck with any standard approach.
Even though I'm not Christian, this iron Celtic Cross strongly affects me, so I benefit by hanging it in my meditation area.
I am so grateful that I found it.

Celtic Goddess
PICTURE 1-9
An image used for spiritual purposes should not be one you feel you are obliged to use. Frankly, after several decades I still had no emotional relationship with any Goddess who had eight arms or any God shown with more than one head. But we are blessed to have our own Western tradition. This image of the Celtic goddess Morrigan was painted by Valerie Meijer
Although the "formless" is my main approach, sometimes I'm in the mood for a "form". As Sri Ramakrishna put it so beautifully "God without form is my Father, God with form is my Mother."
Even Adi Shankara, the great non-dualist, composed songs of worship.
